CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Novice
This course is suitable for project managers, site managers and supervisors, business proprietors and client-based personnel.
Description
This course provides knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Risk assessments/method statements
- Recent changes in accepted working practices
- Behavioural safety
- Management of occupational health
- Electricity
- Excavations
- Working at height
- Scaffolding
- Demolition
- Confined spaces
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.

Theoretical training and assessment

Materials Required
Candidates must be competent in English at a level required to do their job.
Any candidate under the age of 18 must complete a parental consent form and return this to us prior to the course start date.
Candidates should hold or be about to hold the role of a manager.
All candidates must bring with them one of the following forms of ID:
- A valid passport – no more than 6 months out of date
- A valid UK photo driving license - no more than 6 months out of date

If this course is eligible for a short course grant, please ensure we have your levy number before the course start date, and your candidates provide their national insurance numbers on the day of the course.
