QNUK Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling at Work
Description
This qualification will provide learners with the knowledge to support individuals understand of manual handling in the workplace.
Outcomes / Objectives of the Course:
1. Understand the reasons for safer manual handling.
2. Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety.
3. Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety.
Prerequisites
Due to the language of the assessment, it is recommended that learners have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessment and to undertake the recommended assessment methods.

Dress Code
None Required.
Materials Required
Candidates are required to bring paper and a pen to make notes during their training.
All candidates must bring with them one of the following forms of ID:
- A valid passport – no more than 6 months out of date
- A valid UK photo driving license - no more than 6 months out of date
- A photographic employee ID card
- A photographic ID card from an awarding body (e.g. IPAF, RTITB, NPORS)

If this course is eligible for a short course grant, please ensure we have your levy number before the course start date, and your candidates provide their national insurance numbers on the day of the course. Without this information, we cannot claim the levy on your behalf and take no responsibility for the grant not being claimed.

Recommended refresher every 3 years.
