EUSR Utility Excavations - Category 3 - 5 Install, Inspect and Remove Timber, Steel and Proprietary Support Systems
This is suitable for managers, supervisors, safety professionals and/or operatives who are required to oversee and/or carry out work employing install, inspect and remove timber, steel and proprietary excavation support systems.
Description
Achievement of the standard demonstrates effective performance, by being able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
- Comply with company procedures, health and safety regulations and environmental practices.
- Interpret utility drawings and line search document.
- Install, inspect and remove timber support systems.
- Identify the dangers and hazards associated with excavations.
- Use and communicate data effectively and resolve problems.
- Comply with company procedures, health and safety regulations and environmental practices.
- Interpret utility drawings and line search document.
- Install, inspect and remove proprietary support systems.
- Identify the dangers and hazards associated with excavations.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a virtual EUSR card.
Dress Code
Candidates must bring the following items with them to the course:
- Safety Boots/Suitable Footwear
- High Visibility Vest/Jacket
- Safety Glasses
- Hard Hat
- Gloves
- Overalls/Suitable Workwear

Lunch and Refreshments
We have a catering van which visits our premises and there are several other facilities close by where food and drinks can be purchased. A refrigerator and a microwave are available for use in our canteen.
Complimentary hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day. We have a vending machine where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased.
Materials Required
Candidates are required to bring paper and a pen to make notes during their training.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the course start time for registration. Candidates arriving later than the advised course starting time may not be admitted onto a training course. Please call us on 0191 489 0212 if you are running late.
Photographic ID MUST be provided as per the EUSR Identity Verification Policy.

If this course is eligible for a short course grant, please ensure we have your levy number before the course start date, and your candidates provide their national insurance numbers on the day of the course. Without this information, we cannot claim the levy on your behalf and take no responsibility for the grant not being claimed.
