ECITB Client Contractors National Safety Group (CCNSG) Leading a Team Safely

The CCNSG Leading a Team Safely course is designed for supervisors, team leaders and those with responsibility for others on industrial and engineering sites. When you’re leading people in higher-risk environments, technical skill alone isn’t enough — how you manage safety, behaviour and communication matters.

Description

This course is suitable for managers and supervisors requiring health and safety training to gain access to sites, such as power plants, wind farms, oil refineries etc.

To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • How to communicate successfully

  • How to lead a team successfully

  • How to achieve safe outcomes

  • Self-management
  • How to work safely with others

    The course explores these topics in an interactive way and delegates participation throughout the day is a key factor.

    The course is based around the concept of The Good Job and structured into four elements:

  • The Team
  • The Plan
  • The Job
  • Good Job

On successful completion of this course candidates will receive an ECITB Card.

Prerequisites

Candidates must hold an in date CCNSG National card. This card must be brought with them to the training course to be presented to the trainer before the course commences.

Exam Information

Theoretical training and assessment.

Dress Code

None required.

Materials Required

Candidates are required to bring paper and a pen to make notes during their training.

Candidates must bring one of the following forms of ID:

  • A current original signed passport
  • A current original signed UK photo driving license
  • An ECITB/ACE Card

If neither of the above can be shown other acceptable ID will be at least 2 items shown together, one of which includes the attendee’s photograph, one from List A and one from List B shown.

This course is an ECITB training course.

Candidates must hold an in date CCNSG National card. This card must be brought with them to the training course to be presented to the trainer before the course commences.

Candidates must have conversational use and understanding of the English language. If candidates do not meet this requirement, they will not be allowed to attend unless prior approval has been given by ECITB to run the course in another language or a translator is present. 

Candidates will be required to give us their personal details which will be entered onto the ECITB Web Portal. This information will be used to generate certification for the candidate.

Candidates will be required to complete the ECITB Register and Privacy Notice or the Objection to Data Disclosure Form. Whilst you are entitled to object to your details being shared you should be aware that ECITB, Employers, Training Organisations and other Awarding Organisations will be unable to verify your prior training and qualifications. 

At the start of the course, candidates will have a digital photograph taken of them which will be provided to ECITB for the course records database. 

Candidates are eligible to combine their CCNSG and ACE cards which will subsequently synchronise the expiry date for the future. 

Any candidate who are unable to comply with these requirements will be unable to commence training.

It is important that candidates inform us if they have any special needs or requirements before they arrive for their course so that we do our best to cater for them.

If this course is eligible for a short course grant, please ensure we have your levy number before the course start date, and your candidates provide their national insurance numbers on the day of the course. Without this information, we cannot claim the levy on your behalf and take no responsibility for the grant not being claimed.
